Do the AVID shock collar adapters only work with using threaded shock bodies, and not the smooth shock bodies?
Gold top and bottom loaders as well as hard anodized are very close to the same diameter as threaded ( not the 12mm big bore ) shocks.
Approximately 0.01" smaller for non threaded.
The only drawback on the collars is that they are held in place with a short set screw, potentially marring the shock body.
There are plastic/rubber tipped set screws ( 4-40 ) but there are not many threads in the collar.
I looked for these set screws but have yet to find appropriate ones.

Lavigna on his RC10 Composite Craft Pro build thread said he had found some of these set screws. "I'm using these cool rubber tipped grub screws so the shock body doesn't get scratched when tightened"
