Very interesting idea. I've wanted to build a 2wd using a TC setup, but I don't have the heart to tear mine down for it.

After my stress test led to poor results on my BC3 chassis, I decided some kind of top brace was necessary. I installed a few stand offs down the spine and made a paper template. I then sent the chassis off to Jeff to have one cut out of carbon. After the initial g10 test brace, I decided to tie it in all the way to the bulkhead instead of just the chassis posts. Jeff also whipped up a battery hold down while it was there. It nice and sturdy now. Some other parts showed up, so I may be able to get this on track this weekend. The build is further along than these pics show, so it may happen. :)

So I got this thing together the other week. I wanted to get it on track before the end of the outdoor season, figuring that track would be a little more forgiving than some of the indoor places I'd be able to get to over the winter. I threw some electronics in it temporarily, so disregard the long wires. I had just installed them on the esc and didn't want to cut them.

During the assembly I found issues with some of the rear geometry that would need to be addressed, but I worked around it just to run the car. About half of them are now fixed, the other 1 or 2 are a little more involved. So I'll probably wait until after the NC vintage race to do anything about those. But overall, the car worked "ok" for just throwing a setup at it. I raced in in sportsman just to get some track time. It was definitely loose, and got worse as the day went on. So just took it easy. I have an old LRP 17.5 in it that's kind of on it's way out, and I had it under geared..... so it was a little on the slower side. But it took the jumps like a champ and held together. So I it was a successful first outing. I took some on track video of it, one of these days I'll get it up on YouTube.

I'm getting the car ready for the upcoming Jconcepts Clash of Champions next weekend and figured I'd share some updated pics. I'll be running the modern 21.5 class as it doesn't fit in any of the vintage classes. Still a few things to do, but it's close to finished.

Thanks.

Yeah, Jason sent me a set of buggy and stadium truck wheels to check out, along with a pair of the each rear wheel adapters (1/4" and 3/16" axke).

Nice, the truck wheels have the pioneer look also? Can you show them yet or do we have to wait? :P

Yes, they have the same look. I don't know if pics of them are out anywhere yet, so I don't want to post any right now.

No prob, I totally understand. As far as I know, there are no pictures of the truck wheels posted anywhere yet. I'm sure the vintage clash is where they plan to display them to the public.
