Andy's rear arms are the same length as rc10 arms. Stock rc10 bones are fine

Very cool. The front nose is 3D printed by you? Or available?

Some Ali bar off eBay and got the lathe going!
If you want to save some time in future builds, K&S 83060 tubing works great for nose and wing tubes.

I use a set of soft vise pads similar to these to hold them.

I find it easier to drill/tap the rear hole first and then use a screw to keep the tubing from spinning while tapping the inline threads. Although, it looks like you have everything well in hand.

Thanks for the info on the tubes, made my own in the end on the lathe

So a little update on this, I’ve been busy racing my bikes and working on the house all summer but back to some Rc now!

Willspeed is busy with his full time job so hasn’t had chance to draw up my ideas for the RC10 but watch this space as it’s on the to do list, this car I’m mocking up will be the show car once the parts are made

Sorted a few parts out and bought some B4 shocks/carbon towers/steering bell cranks and fitted these up this weekend

The bag is a B4 box which I’ll build up and use the Nix printed conversion parts as a stealth box costs a fortune these days!
It’ll give me the option on a gear diff too!

There are still deals out there.

Just recently, I picked up a near complete A stamp chassis and suspension with two Stealth transmissions for $150 and a 10T with about half the suspension, transmission, and some aftermarket parts for $80.

I know the feeling, every time I have to buy vintage Tamiya and Kyosho parts. Vintage Tamiya stuff looks to be fairly popular in the UK, I often find parts there.

We should get a US/UK trade going on vintage parts!

Here is the car, fitted a longer front tower as the B4 shocks are longer than the stock team shocks

Next job is to build the B4 box up and order a Nix B4 gearbox adaptor then get it stripped back down for powder coating

Found some 12mm hex’s in the box and mounted up some Kyosho wheels I had in my box and bolted up some B4 wheels

Nearly got all the bits for the B4 box and need to order the Shapeways adaptor from Nix

A few of the missing gearbox parts arrived and the B4 box is all together ready to go in when the Nix bulkhead arrives

Shapeways delivery came today! Just got to decide to put a ball diff gearbox in it or a gear diff

I’m thinking gear diff as it’s going to be winter soon and I’ll be able to get some running indoors on eos carpet

So got the B4 gear diff box in!

Had to make a few tweaks to get it in, first up you have to dremel off the lower part of the gearbox as per the pics as this sits lower than the nix conversion part, an easy 5 min job

Second job is the gearbox bolt needs grinding down to fit in the nix bulkhead, if you run the std bolt it fowls the bulkhead and the gearbox wont sit in nicely

As the gear diff sits lower than the bulkhead by 0.5mm you need to raise this up away from the chassis (you could dremel the chassis a little if you wished) but I raised the tranny up on som 0.5mm shims and this sorted it

The rest all just bolts up as per normal, its a very nicely designed bulkhead by Niki

So now its together and all the issues sorted on the car I will strip it back down and send it off to be blasted and powder coated in my trademark White

The chassis is back from powder coaters, time to build it up! 8)
