I got the body assembled and everything fit perfectly. I put o-rings on the body posts to take up the slack and and give the body a little cushion. This is what I'm starting with from the kit. No side nerfs, no chrome plated half a rear shell, no traction bars, no funky looking vertical mirrors and no Toyato stickers.  I ordered a light kit, so when that arrives, I'll finish installing the side marker lamps. Still undecided on the paint. The idea of leaving it white and adding some 80's style graphics is on my mind though. I need to get a filler panel for the rear of the cab since I'm not using that half shell on the bed. At this point I am beyond happy with this truck. After I get the lights and back of the cab sorted out, I have a long list of things to do to this truck. Wheels and tires, custom bumpers,Light bar for the bed, sound kit and lots of suspension work to name a few. I have a dozen other projects going too so I will add changes and mods to this thread as they are done to the truck.

I really like that paint job. I follow ampro's videos and he does a lot of cool stuff. I will be buying some of his 3d printed stuff for the interior and maybe his taillights. I bought my kit from Bang Good and they stated that white and black bodies were available, but never asked me which I wanted. I liked both so I never asked. I left it for a surprise when I opened the box. Sort of like not wanting the doctor to tell you the sex of your kid before they're born. The white is probably better if you plan to paint it a different color.

Holy crap that blazer is awesome! My daily driver is a lifted '83 K5 and that's exactly how I've been thinking about painting it! I'll take a couple pics and give you an update on the Toyota (I mean Toyato, lol) in a few min.

I really haven't done too much to it yet. I just got the rear of the cab in the mail and still need to paint it to match. I also got the light bar set, which I think makes it a Mountain Rider clone now  I installed a full light set with high/low beam headlights, fog lights, turn signals, brake lights and backup lights. I painted the grill, headlight surrounds, and windshield wipers. I removed the "traction bars" and the front and rear bumpers for a more scale appearance. I want to get everything for the interior and then paint the interior and exterior all at once. I'm considering filling in the body mount holes and going with magnetic body mounts. I've heard the pros and cons of doing this, but for a scale appearance, its hard to beat. I'm still a little undecided on what to do with the wheel and tire situation. The factory ones really warm my insides with memories of Tamiya monster trucks, but some adapters and new wheels and tires would really look more scale as well as increasing the front width to match the back

This looks too good to be true and I'm really tempted .I saw a video on YouTube of one with 1.5 kilo extra weight added and it drove so scale looking it was awesome .

I'm morally grey on the IP theft issue , as you say I don't have a grand to spend on one but £150 is not bad at all.

Well I had an oops moment on gearbest and one of these is on the way , Basher I've been looking at pictures but I can't see clearly what holds the leaves of the springs together , is it nuts and bolts or rivets ?

There is a nut and bolt that holds the pack together and keeps the springs centered. You could remove individual springs as you wish with no mods or hassle. U-bolts keep the smaller springs from walking or rotating. Pretty much the same as a full size truck setup.
