I particularly love the wheels on logikfive's pontiac. Scr8p, the 442 is very classy. Junkman, the '69 looks fantastic.

I used to have a 4th gen, too. '97 LT1, M6, 17x11 SLP 5 spokes & SLP 2-on-da-left exhaust. It was a great car, but it had to go. I was too temped to modify it further, and I'd much rather ensure the '67 can be kept on the road. It didn't help that car seats don't fit in there well at all...

first car i ever built was a 64 1/2 mustang... i never did get a picture of it. My favorite build was an 67 Austin Healey 3000. Possibly one of th emost beautiful cars ever made IMO.

holy crap, hoop, how many clay bars did you go through cleaning it up?

that image was from a roadtrip i took a few years back, and thats just an afternoon of driving thru wyoming. i washed it at least twice a day on that trip. (fresh bugs come off way easier...)

i usually manage to clay it overall at least twice a year. the first time because i want to, and the second time because of some unforseen event like roadtar or killer trees flinging sap at it.

hey jason for the older 1950s chevys does a 350 drop right in to the stock motor mounts? cuz i have a motor and im switching shells. i have a 240z shell now and want a 1950s chevy instead. my motor is the crate chevy 330HO deluxe

what kind of 50's car? like, what year exactly. 55 on would be easy, since that was the first year for a v8. you can use the original front mount setup, or install side motor mounts.

you can put a sbc in anything, though. they're the best power plant for one of those 4 lettered F words (ford).

hahaha. yeah. its funny when some guys ask me what kind of cars im into i say somethign along the lines of.. im not really loyal to any certain car, im loyal to a motor. haha the chevy 350. eh, keeps life simple for me if i want somethign new i just stick with the same motor though haha its pretty cool. whether it be a car, truck, van, whatever comes down the line as long as its smog exempt haha.

Question, what's the deepest socket anyone has seen and what was the brand? I need a socket that can handle up to 5" or 6" of bolt threads left hanging past the nut.

There's a ratchet that comes with a socket set where the center of the ratchet is hollow allowing long bolts to pass through. I can't for the life of me remember the name though

Well, I'm already using a ratcheting box end wrench to torque things down, what I'm looking for is a really deep well socket or a similar device like the ratchet box end wrench that can be attached to a cordless drill to run the slack out of the threads. Bolt lengths vary from 1" to 5" or 6", so a standard socket won't cut it, and the ratchet wrench and above socket wrench are slower than running the nuts by hand. (why is it I keep expecting the inevitable "comments" every time I say those last 5 words? ... ).

Maybe I need to ask the question differently. If you had a length of all-thread and you wanted to spin a nut down 6" of it's length in under 3 seconds, how would you do it?

BTW, I don't mean to jack this thread and will move my question to a new one if necessary. Just figured since you guys were already talking about cars, you'd be in "wrench" mode. Thank you for the help, I appreciate it.

Hit it a couple times with one of these, it will get your nuts spinning in a hurry.
