To do it correctly, yes. Nothing wrong with mixing and matching parts though.

Ok, I couldn't help myself and decided to tear it down, clean and assess what I'm working with. Rust was not near as bad as it looked. Mostly just surface rust. Noticed something about both chassis that I have. They have a white layer in the middle. Both are the same, so I'm assuming its a losi chassis and not aftermarket. Looks like graphite bonded to both sides of a fiberglass core. Did Losi manufacture these or were they outsourced by another company. Sorta looks like a composite craft piece.

Talking with Gil last year they switched things around a bit at the start for chassis production. I have to go back through my audio recording, but they had problems with at least one place in getting the holes in the right spot for while an the JRX2 and early JRXT chassis.
