I know it's not exactly the purpose of this thread but I've got another kind of kyosho parts compatibility question: Does the Optima MID transmission bolt right onto an Ultima chassis and vise versa? I thought I read here awhile back that the trans cases use the same hole patterns but I can't find the post for confirmation.

Maybe you're thinking of the Kyosho Triumph belt transmission...? I believe the Triumph trans can be used in the Ultima. Try searching the forum for "Triumph transmission" and you'll get a few hits of guys using them in their Ultimas.

Thanks for the suggestion but I was actually looking for the info on the Optima trans.
