Re: Andy's Pro Race restoration

Well I had a chance to get a bit more work done and completed cleaning up the wheels. They turned out alot better then I expected and the acetone worked like a charm to get the excess glue off. Now to get some bearings so I can mount them on the car.
I still have to figure out what I'm going to do for a body, I'm not exactly sure what my options are other then a renegade from Andy. What are your suggestions?

Had a chance to rip down to the lhs and grab some bearings and put the wheels on. I also had an Andy's bull nose front bumper that I was saving for a 10t project but I think it looks pretty trick on the buggy so I think it found a new home

I'm enjoying the build, I totally forgot about that Pro-Steer system. Never did get to try one, I wonder how well they worked?

Wish I could find the old Pro Steer rack I stashed away years ago...

Love the car and the build, but that red front body mount is just killing the look. Do you have a white or black one to put on there?

Thanks man, Ya it's a bit of an I sore but it helps me identify the frontyellowdatsun wrote:Love the car and the build, but that red front body mount is just killing the look. Do you have a white or black one to put on there?

Haha I was waiting for someone to mention that! I'm just waiting to hit up the fabric store so I can grab some black dye.
Trying to work out the major stuff right now and then I'll get the fine details after. I need to hit up knk for some hardware yet and track down some decent tie rods and get rid of the marred up stock set.
I've been working away like a keebler elf on this body... I decided that it was worth it to try and restore that too since it's so hard to find a body for these things. I have a bit to go before I'm completely satisfied but all in all I'm pretty happy

Thanks man, I don't really have a lot of friends that enjoy the rc stuff as much as I do so the compliments are always welcome, I truly appreciate them.lslotcarrod wrote:I'm enjoying the build, I totally forgot about that Pro-Steer system. Never did get to try one, I wonder how well they worked?

The first time I saw the steering setup was in an ad and I thought it was the coolest thing haha it was sheer luck that I ended up with it . Needless to say I was pretty excited!

I wanted to wait to post a pic of it with the body on until I had some front shocks but I'm pretty stoked with it right now
Still a long way to go but most of the hard stuff is done
