Maybe you should still consider painting the body on the outside. That would also let you fill in the holes on the roof properly, by adding new panels and then using a filler to have a smooth transition.

I doubt you'll be able to remove the haze, because it's caused by the chemicals in the brake fluid and is INSIDE the Lexan. It can't be buffed out. This milky haze is what people don't tell you about when they say how brake fluid is a good paint stripper. I experienced the exact same thing as you and I got nowhere trying to polish it out--because it's not merely a surface haze.

you can clear polycarbonate that has been etched with methylene chloride from what I understand. it's pretty nasty stuff but certain places can do it. might be worth a phone call. chemical polishing is what it is called.

this is used all the time for machined parts that need to be optically clear afterwards.

That would definitely be a first on here. If anyone is willing to try that, I'd love to see it. 8)

Painting the body on the outside is an option if painting on the inside doesn't come out decent. Since this is a difficult body to find at at all, much less a decent price - it's worth a try.

I've not heard of this before, hopefully this drastic step, won't be necessary.

The small test area of buffing using a dremel polishing wheel did show promise, so I will probably continue down that road for the moment. I might also try some wet sanding first on the worst spots if necessary. My plan is to fill the holes with some custom cut lexan pieces that are pre-painted and shoe booed into place similar to some on th onroad bodies where you have to affix the front or rear bumper.
