For my "old" cars I picked up some Hitec metal gear servos for playing around and I know they work good w/ my old radio gear. While I was at it, I bought kimbrough servo savers for them as well. Since I'm not sure if they'll end up in a RC10, a DS, or a 10LSS...

For the new B6/B6D that I hope to race (once I put one together)... I went with Savox based on the local recommendations I got to use w/ the new radio gear.

yes, the non-worlds steering bellcranks have a servo saver built in. historically, the hot tip of the day was to add some tie wraps to snug up the saver portion.

was using futaba's...but not no more.....now......savox...they have good ones for around $25......

Specifically does the worlds rere have a servo saver built in. I guess that was really my question.

I'm pretty sure it uses the same bellcrank as the original worlds. I always ran a kimbrough servo saver on the stock and after market bellcrank steering systems when racing after I destroyed my first servo without it.

Ive never had good luck with hitech car servos. I use the micro aircraft servos alot, and very reliable units. I have killed 2x 605bbmg servos in a slash, and several 425 servos just failed or were incompatible with my crappy radio gear.

Ace 1313 Digital- The last servo you'll ever have to buy for about $100
I use these in all my better cars/ aluminum case and metal gears very strong and versatile.

or the cheap & reliable
Hitec HS645MG- surprisingly strong & reliable for about $35

He doesn't want a $100 servo for a $100 car

I have bought and beat on the following, Savox 1258TG, Savox 1251 and Power HD 1207TG.
All of them have done very well with no issues whatsoever.
I use full size on the RC10T's and the compact ones on my RC10's

If you're just looking for something to play around with, keep an eye out for deals from reputable sellers on metal gear servos (new or used). You dont really need a servo saver on metal gear servos, and not running one will get you a little better steering response. I run a rebranded savox (orion) in my race car, and its good, but savox servos can draw a lot of amperage. Futaba, Airtronics/Sanwa, and KO Propo are all awesome, but pricey. Savox and Hitec are what I'd consider the next tier... a little cheaper, and still good, but not AS good (Savox with power consumption, some hitecs dont center great)... and then you have the budget servo brands like hobbyking, power HD, etc., which are probably fine for a lot of applications, but sometimes overrated on specs. In a buggy, I'd look for at least 90 oz of torque, and 150oz for a truck. .10 or better will be really fast, any once you get over about .15 for speed, you'll start to notice it being a little slow.

I like the Savox 1258TG.

I have the plain yellow one, a Black edition, just ordered a Ryan Cavaleri version.

Power HD1207TG is a good servo for the money. Not particularly torquey but good speed and I've never kiiled one.

+1 for JR servos though....
