Re: I offer a challenge...
I'm about 1/2 way there. I've already figured out how to do everything...I just need to bolt everything up.
There are only 2 parts I need to fabricate to get this thing completed (front hub carrier & extension to mount chassis to front bulkhead). I know I probably went the easy route, but I wanted to keep my build limited to rc10 (10t) parts only. In addition, I need all of these parts for other builds...so I couldn't permanently alter these parts (except for the front nose plate).
I went with the following:
10t arms all around
12 gear transmission....2x6 gear
tmaxx wheels and tires (for now)
reverse rotation motor for the front (I didn't want to cut the motor plate)
Regards,
highwayracer

Re: I offer a challenge...
I once had an ultima outfitted with clodwheels. it used RC10T tires. I guess it wouldn't count anyway
Don't have pics of it either and it was 2WD. Given up after I realised i didn't have a suitable servo
Edit: still have it but with just slightly larger tires than stadium truck. I compensate the higehr end-ratio by using an 8 cell batterry and a stock 540. still flies.
Highway racer: you could go with a hyperdrive belt conversion upfront if you want to avoid the reverse moter thing.
Or: check out the corally touring car with its 42 teeth diff-pulley. it's the m3 standard so just need to find a uitable belt and pinion pulley. Might be hard to match the eaxact same for the rear part. Maybe a one-way upfront so the front would only be pulling when needed?
nice challenge here
If I had a tub I'd be tempted to join in

I know its a dick move but like I said i never do this and i figured doesn't hurt to ask. Thanks

Re: I offer a challenge...
I could easily mount it in the stock location if I cut the front (rear) bulkhead. But since I don't want to alter the parts, I will be mounting the stock bell cranks in a slightly different location...one of the pieces that I have to fabricate.Mr. ED wrote:I wonder where high-way racer is gonna put the steering???
I'll see if I can finish everything tonight.

Better?
Clodtalk has all kinds of great smilies, I don't know why Bill hasn't installed them here too.
I hear ya on the decisions. Many a time a flip of a coin has made the choice for me. I only use rock/paper/scissors for really important stuff!
