the early arms had less webbing and were thinner, more fragile. the stealth brace is kind tough to explain without a picture. basically, the 6 gear brace was redrilled with two holes so it was a rectangle, but the stealth holes actually are farther back, so a new one was made that two 'ears' stick out that better aligned with that trans.

I'm not quite sold on it being a 7001 kit. Towers are thick, and the front is a 3 hole, handful of holes on the back as well. Battery box is not offset (unless it was redrilled). Can't really tell from the pic but it kind looks like the 2nd run arm too. :?

I'm leaning toward a 7035 team truck. More detailed pics would be useful.

Yeah it could be a 7035 that was pillaged for the universal shafts and trans brace for sure. Alternately the towers could have been upgraded and arms broken and replaced. Hard to say

Looks like a late run 7001 to me. Thick arms could have been upgraded at some point, but given the late towers I'd say it's original. The giveaways are the lack of 3* rear toe, lack of 6221 front alloy axels, white AE nuts on steering set IMO. They ran the'RC10T' for a while even as the 7035 was being sold

Well, I decided to fiddle with it and clean it up. The motor was no good, but the ESC seemed to work well, with no reverse. The traxxas receiver was missing a crystal.
I pulled the 550 motor out and just for kicks threw in a 550 I have and it ran fine.

The rear wheels are scuffed, painted silver and wearing proline tires while the fronts are perfect and the Tires are team associated with good tread, not the softest rubber.
I thought that was odd and perhaps one pair had been swapped. Especially with the wear and silver paint on the rears.

One of the front axles seems worn with a slight movement in the wheel bearings. I popped the bearings in a set of solid wheels I have and stuck them on the front for now.

Looking great ! I've always known them associated tires to be kind of hard. Not sure if they were originally like that or if it because they are over 20 years old !

Yeah, they look good though. So I set them to the side and am going to leave to new ones on to run it. I put it back together to check it out and got most of the paint off the rear wheels.

So I took it out and knowing it had that tekin ESC and a 14.4v 550 motor in if, I threw a cheap 3S lipo in.

What a great handling little machine. It really is a driver's truck. I'm pretty sure about halfway through the little battery pack, I toasted the differential. This seems to be a reoccurring theme with my rc10's.

I think I'm going to stick a different ESC in it with reverse and upgrade the transmission.

So I'm gutting a brand new stealth and all the guts are going into the old white case.
