Moving forward...

I managed to get some parts over the weekend from a good friend in North Carolina. It was a good weekend, we chilled and ran quite a few laps in his backyard. I still have a lot more to get, but further than I was.

The new parts, and yes that's one of Jay's last Turbo Mirage SS bodies :D

Parts partially installed. I've got to get some shock screws and other hardware ordered

I have to transfer my non racing bellcranks over to the replica and install the racing ones on the runner... once I order some bearings, which I'll probably have to order all of them.

While I'm at it, I have the correct rear tires, but not the correct fronts or wheels  so does anyone want to make a trade? The black wheels are only a 2.0 I believe, but the white ones are 2.1...or is that 1.9 and 2.0...I can't remember, Rod help me out here, you gave them to me. The front tires need to be traded for the right ones too. I guess I should post this in the BST section.

I found The Track (hobby shop...with an indoor clay track) over in Maryland and got some ball studs and 3/4" 4/40 screws. She's starting to take shape.

Anyone know which front axles that were probably used on this buggy? I imagine the same ones Masami used, which are ASC 6220 I think.

A type of predecessor to 6220.
It only had a pin on the inside. no set screw.

Looks good. I like the front shock tower setup with the long shocks.

Not everyone knows this, but the reason they started putting the shocks on the back, was to lower the CG of the car. Since the front end and tower are at an angle, moving them behind also moves them down.

A little more progress made today. I got one of Jay's last Mirage SS bodies roughly trimmed and mounted on the chassis. I can't wait to paint her, Rod, your box art 834b and Matt Francis B2 bodies may have to get bumped lol.

I wish, this build definitely isn't going to set any records in the build time department, besides scr8p will always hold the longest build times ever
