I know that this is an old thread but...
Anybody ever seen a bulldog (not bulldog II) ?
Actually, I have one in my basement :)

I got it many moons ago for my 14th b-day. It is in pretty good shape but the driver is missing and it doesn't have a motor of speed control. It has new tires and I am pretty sure that I replaced the belts some 20 years ago and it has just sat since then.

There was just an auction on eBay where 2 of these were for sale.

There were a ton of bulldog auctions recently. Apparently there was an older hobbyshop that finally went out of business.

Hi I have pieces of 3 of the original Mugen Bulldog and spares. Probably enough parts to make 2 fully working cars. Some of the wheel mounts have worn. Have had it since 1988 top car. I bought it from a guy across the back lane when I was 16. That car was anodized red with oil damped shocks. Unfortunately the cage was painted black (poorly) I still have 2 original blue cages in top condition. The anodized one does look trick though. I will dig it out and post a pic on the weekend if anyone is interested.

We're allways interested when it comes to seeing pictures of the rarer models
Sounds like you should put a blue cage on the red anodized chassis and use the black one on a runner.

Was just out the shed looking at them. Might need more than a weekend to get them to photo.
Will get to it though.

Thats a top idea. I'll need to clear some bench space first.

Hi , Sorry about the short post. I have been pretty busy with a new 1/8 bazooka over the last couple of months and havent had much time to work on the old cars. The third Bulldog is still in pieces in my R/C work box. The black one used to have a wing but I ve lost the mounting wire. I will try to bend a new one and mount it. It has many modified pieces made from aluminium which I will reinstall when I get the chance. It was a great first 'real' R/C car except for the ball diffs. If I remember rightly I assembled the car and test drove it but the diffs kept slipping so I shelved it. That was 10 years ago so I should be able to nut it out now. I have two seperate manuals, English and Asian. They are slightly different but compliment each other with the odd missing info. Note that the black one has oiled coil over shocks while the blue one has the standard air dampers which still work really well. Adjustment is via a grub screw. I have added a few more pics and a photo of my collection. Form Left to Right. RC10 1999 worlds, YZ10 Dogfighter Tamiya Hornet (Classic) Tamiya Baja King, HSP Bazooka, HSP Tyranno, and the Bulldogs. Enjoy
