Re: What the hell is up with USPS

USPS has gotten a lot better with tracking. 10 years ago the online "tracking" system was there to only lower your expectations and then be "impressed" when the package arrived before the delivery date. Out of curiosity, I would check the tracking on packages that were already delivered and it would still say they were several states away
These days they still have not gotten the whole scanning at every step thing totally correct, but USPS should at least get the most improved player award
Until recently, I lived in a rural town where they would update the tracking to delivered status and a day or two later it would actually arrive. Oddly, they would write in pen the actual delivery date on the package. My guess is that someone called out and they could not cover down, but the item was scanned as out for delivery as it entered the delivery truck area where is should have been loaded. To not offend the auditors, it was simply scanned again at second shift as "delivered" and then actually delivered the next day.
They also have brutally honest tracking where it is really obvious that my package made it to where it was supposed to be, but then went a few counties over by mistake and sent back.
