Are the tethers like limiting straps for the rear droop?

They actually seem to be more for keeping the arm flex from popping dogbones. Similar to the yokomo tie wraps. They only come into play when you pry out on the arms.

The further along I get the more I'm leaning towards saving the body and building this as an off-road chassis.

Ok I dyed the front end, I think it works now. Short .56's all the way around with some funny shock collars. The tires and wheels are temporary but as I see it set up for off road I'm tempted to find a Eagle body for it

Esc is an old Tekin, Twister ReRe motor lol. I'm still not sure how they ran the packs in these, even a hump pack won't fit north/south...I can run sideways but it sits very forward

I think I'd have to go with some red aluminum wheels...

Yeah the problem is that the only red ones that would have been around back in this era were the covers for tamiya wheels- and I could totally run them but the covers are expensive. If I can find them at a reasonable price I'm all over it

Or you could go 70's pimp full shags:

Hahaha

I have some red tires from AJ's but they are on blue wheels. If you know AJ's you'll know what I mean lol

I'm still leaning towards onroad, so it will probably have white Bolink wheels.

Looks very cool just the way it is!
I think those wheels/tires work well on there.
