I got the replacement parts from AE so it's basically all together. They sent a new case along with the topshaft but I don't see the case being an issue.... on my car anyway. It was only the topshaft.

I'll work on getting the body and wing trimmed up and mounted at some point in time. Then get it painted 2-3 years later.

i can't really give a "good" opinion of it since i had to use an "original" 2.25 diff gear because the one was missing in the kit. but, once the new topshaft was installed it spun....... well, lets just say you could turn it fairly easy. if you would run a pack through it, it would free up and probably be just fine. since i won't be using this car, i chucked the trans up in the drill press and let it run awhile.

the original stealths didn't have these gear issues that i remember or ran into. the only thing would be warped cases that would keep it from spinning freely.

also, it was a good day. i found a new pack of front rulux wheels so in the dye they went.

Did you go with the mini-e-revo wheels just for looks?
Or do they solve some other issue?

i wanted to run rulux wheels without having to do any kind of "old is new" treatment to it (longer worlds arms, etc.). drill the axle hole in the wheel out to 3/16", add a 12mm hex adapter and that's it.

wish the Mini-E-R Rulux came in a color other than black - but very glad to see them on there and fitting very well.

who knows, with the worlds car re-release, maybe they would be willing to mold them in white and yellow like the others. i would assume jconcepts knows that they are a viable alternative for that application.

Still on the mini-e-revo wheel topic:

1) how close is their offset to the stock "Re-re" Worlds wheels?

2) given that there's now a 12mm hex behind the wheel,
- do you need low-profile nut to secure them?

the offset will depend on the thickness of the 12mm hex you use. right now, until i get proper ones for 3/16" axles, i'm happy with using old ones from my kid's stampede which is 7/32".... or 5mm. that's the width i will be looking for for 3/16" axles.... on the rere worlds. to use them on say a b2 or b3 cvd (since the axle is shorter), you would need thicker ones. 1/4" or so. when i used then on another car with those axles (3/16" b2/b3), i used the hpi s.s. adapters for losi axles.

you can use the standard wheel nut. you actually have to use a washer in between the wheel and nut or the nut will bottom out before the wheel is tight. an aluminum one (like used under a stock rc10 bellcrank or body mounts) worked for me. again, this would be on the rere axles. i don't remember having that issue with b2/b3 axles.

another thing, a standard 11/32" nut driver or socket will probably not fit inside the wheel. i took one of the molded AE tools that come in the kits and sanded down the outside diameter of the tool so it would fit.

I should also mention that the wheels are wider than the worlds wheels, more like the b4.

With my current hex, i'm like a 1/16" wider.

First thing I want to say is that at this moment, none of these parts are available for purchase. They should be at some point, though some parts may look different. Now with that out of the way.....

Last fall, I talked with Niki about designing an RPM worlds front arm that looked like an rc10 widetrack arm for one of my B1.5 builds. Well, it ended up turning into much more. I ended up sending him everything related to the RPM worlds conversion. F&R arms, steering enhancement kit, rear hub carrier, rear arm mounts, and the rear chassis cut template. Also sent the narrow front bumper. So here is everything:

Front & rear arms, designed to look like AE pieces. Geometry wise they are identical to the RPM arms, but instead of using an outer truck hinge pin on the rear arm, they use the wider outer buggy pin.

Rear arm mounts. Notice the mount has been squared off around the 8-32 screw to look more like an AE mount once installed.

Rear hub carriers. i wanted to keep the look of a stock AE hub, but raise the axle like the worlds hubs.

Steering Enhancement kit. Nothing really different about these. Also made a separate 25* castor block.

Front bumper. Basically a copy.

That's basically it. I don't have one of the cut templates since I don't need one. But it has been drawn up.
