Ok so after a little mishap with a screw the rear gearbox has had to go to an engineer to be drilled out and I'm having the holes tapped to prevent any future problem.

So while that's not here I have been looking at my steering and thought I could steel a couple of bits of my SX3 as there cheep and after a bit of cutting and filling this morning I made these.

I will be fitting them tonight and see how they work 8)

That steering turned out nice. Ok fit and geometry? For me I think I would og the de-anodising route, but looks hot bling in purple too :D

It fits fine and moves freely I just need a thinner nut and it will be perfect. I was considering de-anodizing them

Great work on the steering bellcranks - I like the fact that it is all still Schumacher parts.

I wonder if it could all be flipped & mounted onto the main chassis - that way you would gain more clearance for the nuts etc - & for re-locating the roll bar beneath the topdeck? - Also it would give a more consistant steering action since the steering can be affected more by a twisting chassis when mounted on the topdeck... not something thats too critical on an off road buggy but its something we consider on a touring car.

Thanks Dan I did like they were Schumacher parts to 8)

As for the roll bar I might have a little trick up my sleeve after receiving some more stuff yesterday that might eliminate the need for it altogether. I've just got to dig through my parts stash and see if I have something

So I dug through the stash last night and what I thought I did have turns out I didn't :(. So I've either got to try and find some from somewhere or make some.
I got some new front uprights yesterday that were at some point part of a kit but I'm assuming over time these parts have got lost. The uprights came with instructions (the poor quality photos below) on some adjustable upper front wishbones.

The parts that's missing are the turnbuckles and the nylon C type piece has anyone got any?

Me and Daz off oople have just had some stuff and there was 7 or 8 nip ones but only the uprights nothing else but I have just managed to source some so it's now a waiting game (again)

It's now out of it's box and starting to take shape, still waiting on my alloy front diff hangers as there was a mishap with the first set but have been re done and will be here Monday. So I thought id spend a bit of time on it much to the mrs disgust.
I've also swapped the losi shocks for a set of Schumacher small boars to keep it a bit more true to it's roots.

I managed to get some roller drive shafts for the rear and i also got off (Daz75 on oople) some nip Bosscat works rear hubs and wishboans.
I think a spot of de anodising maybe on the cards but I'll get it built fist and then I'll decide:confused:

Just a little throw together I knew it was gonna be tight

That wasn't the intension

So a bit of an update I've had some time to spend on the cat and it's nearly done apart from waiting on my new belt cover and a bit of tidying up.
Image
Had to make a little servo mount out of a bit of Perspex I had as the new servo is shorter than the old ones so won't line up

Like I said needs a bit of tidying up
