We were more about gettin it done since we did all the wiring ourselves when the house was (re)built so we went swann.
Nothing wrong with Swann for residential use. I'm running the 8 camera DVR system, same online capabilities. Also can use PTZ remotely, but all of my cameras are fixed at the moment.
If I were running a jewlery store or gun shop with hundreds of thousands in inventory, I'd spend more for a better system. But this one has been excellent. OEM DVR hard drive crapped after about 6 months, but I was planning to upgrade from 500 gig to 2 TB anyway, and it was only $100 for the new drive that records an entire month on all 8 cameras at medium resolution. The rest of the DVR unit and all of the cameras have been going strong for 2 years now. Thought a camera died awhile ago, but turned out to be that a mouse had eaten through the cable.
