Yeah, they jumped on the hobby-grade bandwagon for a short period of time.
That is one of the nicest examples of a Brat I've ever seen. Just incredible!

I just looked it up on eBay, and you must have REALLY wanted it.

Did someone buy it? I saw the listing ended and then got relisted right away.
Edit: the newer listing is still there. It's more than I would pay. I would be in for it at 25% of that price
.

I know it's a Nikko thread but Tomy did the same thing with being a toy company and making hobby quality kits as well. I've always thought it would be fun to do a "what if" tyco version.

I feel like the Tomy Intruder and Nikko Brat have minimal connection or similarity to anything toy grade that Tomy and Nikko were making. Although looking at the Brat wheels, those do look like Nikko wheels.

As far as the toy grade/hobby grade stuff goes, the Dictator is kind of stuffed in the middle. It was upgradable with bearings, had a modular design with many familiar design elements from hobby 4wd, yet it was a circuit board toy grade car. It felt like one they could have taken to hobby grade if they wanted to. With it's unconventional dual motor power train it would have just been a basher. The platform just begs to be modified.
Here are a couple pics of my modified version of a Dictator

Ooops my bad, I thought
you bought it. I was being distracted when I read your post, and deciphered it wrong. Even with how awesome it is, yeah I think they're asking the moon for it.

My first RC was a Dictator II, which is the same car with a bigger wing. I have kept my eye out for one or two over the years, but just haven't found the right one for the right price.

There is also a very rare Nikko gas car. I had one that I purchased on eBay years ago and sold off again...
It was a GP-15 based Mercedes touring car. A good example can be found here:

Gotta love the names of some of these cars. This was 4wd with 2 separate motors? That must be interesting.

I just realized that my Radio Shack Black Phantom is basically the same vehicle as the Dictator, meaning I basically already own what I have been looking for.

What is nice about the Phantom is that it is a 9 out of 10, so it isn't mint ........... so no reason to keep it as a shelfer!
