Thanks Marlo! You have a sharp eye. :D I see from one of the other threads you are an armor modeler too. Here is a little one I did.

Tamiya 1/16 Tiger 1 full option radio control. I custom built many items and it has dozens of metal parts. The tracks and spares are also metal and she weighs nearly 17lbs.

Back to the Vette. Radio tray is complete and just needs fine sanding and polishing. Also got the servos fitted. Will start restoring the radio gear tonight and prepping the rims for paint. I'm going to paint the rims with Spaztix chrome. Should have a roller by Tuesday.

Just some quick snaps. Will be hitting it again tonight.

You need a King Tiger...That was the baddest mother of them all...To bad it was fat and slow...I want a tank really bad but they are out of my price range...Nice progress on the vette...

Thanks guys! Those 1/16 Tamiya tank kits are definitely not cheap. I had planned on building the King Tiger and Pershing but held off due to the cost. Really want to build that Pershing the next time I have the cash to spare.

Not rolling yet but I've made very good progress. The rims I chose to paint chrome are a lot rougher than I thought. The first test spray looked like crap so I'm going to strip them down and do some more sanding. Might hold off until the weekend to finish the wheels.

She's now ready for wiring.

Vintage servos and radio case came out very nice after polishing.

Probably just drill holes through the rear posts for body clips.

I've been very busy this week but will be back on this car for the weekend. Hopefully I'll get the wheels and wiring done and start on fitting and dressing up the body. I think I have the paint scheme figured out and have ordered the stickers to go with it. Will have to convert some water slide decals to stickers for it to work so I've ordered some clear gloss sticker sheet. Hope it works! Also ordered a new 72 AM crystal set from Tower so I can use one of my vintage Futaba gold box radios. Might use the stick one just to be different. Updates should be coming sometime this weekend.

Does anyone have good photos of the stick packs that were used on the RC12E/I? I need shots of the end caps and overall view. Thinking of making some faux battery packs since all of my 1/12 cars will sit on the shelf permanently (except for the one runner I'm building that is). Would look cool and I wouldn't have to worry about acid leaking out over time.

12e Battery - no end caps back then, just some straping and / or electrical tape.

The white sticks that came in the 12e should be manufactured by either GE or Saft. Rare!

Thanks for the battery pics man! I still haven't forgot about the wheel either. I think I found one that will work for you but will need a little cleaning up. Will get back to you after finish it. The other wheels I had were rougher than I remembered them being.

I'll be using the FP-3S for this car pictured on the left. Got this radio new in the box a while back. Will be interesting to see how the stick setup works. Going back out to the garage shortly to do some more work.
