Tamiya is almost exclusively 850 and 1150 bearings. You can get 25 metal shielded bearings for about $12 shipped from HK. Buy 25 of each type and you'll be set for a long time. :)
I used to buy the 100 piece lots when we had 3 Grasshoppers, a Lunch Box, 2 Hotshots and a Clod running. 8)

You're traveling down a slippery slope. You'll be bit with the mini bug. My first mini was an old M03 Mini Cooper gained from a trade with a neighbor. He built it with the plastic bushings and the transmission eventually grenaded. I fixed all the issues and added bearings. It was fun to run but the Fwd kinda sucked. I found a nice unused RS4 chassis that was missing just a few parts. While on the hunt for parts I come across a beat X-ray T1m. It's beat but I have another X-ray T1that got ran over that I can scab parts from. Then I picked up a new built in run X-ray T1m. So in the end after spending all that cash I still only have the original Mini Cooper that's runable.

That CRX body sure looks tasty.

ya that crx is sexy but at $75 i wouldnt beable to run it .. i hope the local track will run these this year .. if not ill still be on the look out for a car to run .. if they do i have to run the oem crap motor ,Tamiya Championship Series rules. so was thinking of runing a ball diff and the carbon top shaft .. just have to figure out what tire to run

mini racing is awesome. i've been running 4wd with an abc genetic and fwd with my trusty m03.
on the genetic i run abc's mini cooper pickup body and on the m03 a straight up mini cooper body.
the local track just announced that there will be no indoor racing this year, so i'm pretty bummed.

the other indoor carpet track doesn't run mini's, i'm gonna have to try and change that.

i played around with the legends class back in the 90's with 4 cell so i see what they are trying to do is keep the cost down

well there isnt much intress in the class at the local track so they will put the car into rally class

it sucks sitting waiting for parts :( i have my diff, upper ajustable links, light wight shafts, and just waiting on new bairings to put the car back together .. so while i am waiting i tore the car down and painted the rims bronse and odd parts gold to give it some flash

would like a set of real shock but they want $70 for a set at the local hobby shop

I don“t think the shafts are supposed to rotate? - the gears rotate on shafts via bearings.

Yeah they do! They look as if they are aluminum parts! Did you just spray paint them?
