Thats mine exactly, but I didnt get pics because its still in the pack waiting to be installed on a dog! Mines got the little springy washers, like a mid slipper assembly. So, is that screw then, a reverse thread?

Sorry folks. Not wanting to damage the screw or the shaft, I applied as much torque and pressure as I dared and nothing budged either way. I suppose figuring out which way that gear turns in the trans would hint as to what direction the threads would be, but I havent touched an optima in 10 years,, so I have no idea.

Hello, my limiter nut on my turbo optima keeps unloosening and was wondering what strenght thread lock I should use? Also how tight should I reverse tighten the limiter nut?

I was doing some ultra-low-speed house-driving tests with the Barney car last night and I'm having issues with the OT-74 limiter gear nut always coming loose. After a few seconds of forward/reverse just to test steering & the ESC, the car would stop...

I re-bolted it on with some thread-lock last night...you can tell the reverse-nut only goes on so far and then stops, so there's no point in really reefing on it. I didn't get around to reprogramming reverse on the ESC or testing it, yet...maybe...

I finished the rebuild of my RC10 A stamp and the final piece of annoyance has been the top shaft nut clamping nut. The threads on my original are all boogered up so I seach for one on flea bay. I get one that the sell claims he threaded a nut on...

Is the diff nut the same as front axles? Start threads are boogered on my shaft and don't want to force that size on if its wrong.

Yes it does..directly. not so for the optima mid.
However you must re use your old 3mm middle bevel pin to hold in the 2 small bevel gears.

Ok so I consider myself a bit of a numpty when it comes to figuring this stuff out but I would like to work out what ratio suits what motors etc... I have a few aftermarket 48dp and .6 module spurs and would like to better understand gearing and...

You are right, original there were only two spur clusters and with that two pinion’s. So CRP mad an adjustable motor plate to fix that problem. Otherwise the gear-box layout is the same as the Ultima. :D

Guys I cant remember the part number for the 'HARDENED' final pinion gear for the Optima. I'm currently looking for one and need to know the number.
