This thing has a boat load of caster in the front. If the arms are mounted backwards it goes negative so not an option. Haven't tried swapping front to rear to see if they are different.

The manuals I have show both chassis- the early one with the slots for the cells and the later with the clips. Ill post pics later. I didn't known if the clipless one made it into production or not. Guess it did!

I wonder how much of this was the importer as well? I know the UMP sold kits came with hardened gears and bearings.

The different gears blow me away. So many revisions and I don't know if I have just some or all of them!

I ordered the front gearbox and diff as well as another set of OT-6's so I can finish this as a 4wd. Still need a prop shaft and front input shaft but I may get creative. I have lots of bearings left, found a California based bearing seller on eBay, 10 pack of 5x16 was $5.59 and 10 pack of 8x16 was $3.99

This is one I'd like to have for my shelf. I don't remember it at all from back in the day, but saw it for the first time on ebay just a few years ago. It really screams vintage r/c as far as I'm concerned.

Jeff I'd say it's fair to say that the 2WD kits have a different top front arm. Too much caster for a 4WD car I feel.
Sorry if i'm getting a little too finer in the details but it was an observation I made whilst building up my 4WD.

I love these old cars.

Since one if mine was a fwd and the other a rwd, I assume they should be different then. I will have a look in the morning!

Nice day to throw some paint. I use rattle cans and always tend to rush my work so I'm surprised it turned out as well as it did (never mind those carefully placed stickers!)

My little secret is that I didn't paint it in Italy's colors but rather Mexico's







I checked the front uppers, both kits are the same and the manuals both show the same orientation. Hmm

That looks great! I like how the colors of the "Coyote 4WD" stickers alternates with the paint scheme--did you cut up different-colored stickers to make that work? That's a pretty cool detail. Now the only thing you gotta do for the money shots is toothbrush off the whitish residue from two of the tires and that's a shelf-queen right there.

Thanks guys. Yeah cleaning tires is on my list of to-do's. still deciding which car gets the narrow fronts lol

The decals included were white and red- neither could be seen as they sat because if the paint colors, so I trimmed and spliced em. Seems to work

Very nice, way better than my gray primer I tend to do!
