There just stock replacement king pins for the ultima. They slide in and are held in place with e-clips.

These are the ones (I don't own them but I suspect they are slightly smaller than the Ultima stock steering posts as they seem not to need the added plastic spacers):

That is some proper engineering! Did they make anything like this for the RC10 gold pan (1/4" shaft). If so do you have any product reference / model numbers?

I worked a bit on the car recently and I'm slightly pissed off with teh way things are (not) fitting: the Yokomo adapters do not match with the stock front bearings and I have no clue about what should fit there, I guess flanged bearings but the OD of teh stock bearings is too large. Similar problem on the rear: the Yokie adaptors do not slide freely on the rear Thorp telescoping kit axles. On top, the Trinity underdrive gears also show some fitting issue with the counter gear being not tall enough and requiring an extra shim or spacer on the counter gear axle. Last but not least, I cannot use the nice Robinson Racing diff with the Thorp telescoping shafts as the outdrives cannot be adapted. Really not as smooth as working on an RC10...

I've got the same Yokomo wheel adaptors and I have the same problem with the front ones. The 8mm o.d. bearings are slightly too large. All I can think to do is bore them out to 8mm on a lathe. It's a pain though when parts that should fit don't.

Well, you're mix 'n' matching a lot of aftermarket parts there, I'm not surprised you're encountering some obstacles. I don't think it's fair to compare that to building an RC10. When you load up a car with aftermarket parts, you gotta be prepared for a lot of minor fitment issues--even moreso if your aftermarket parts are from several different manufacturers.
