We were thinking of installing a sprinkler system as well. Since the grubs ate all of our lawn, we now have the chance to dig! we need new sod anyway. All the good grub spray was banned in 09, so what's out there now is a 50-50 chance that it will work.

I've always enjoyed yard work and maintaining a nice lawn. I can't afford a sprinkler system for my yard so I'm still old school with the spike sprinklers. Just this past weekend I treated myself to a new Snapper mower. I've been pushing junk around my yard for years and got sick of buying parts mowers at garage sales to keep my 30 year old Snapper going. The main handle snapped of on Friday and that was the end of it. Can't wait till this Friday to mow with the new mower! Here's a pic of grandpa and the newborn :D

So i got my phase one done... I have some pics of before and after... So I will show you what I inherited from the previous owners... Beware of laughter:

Yes, those valves are at 2... maybe 3 different levels, LOL... all the threaded parts were loose and it was a daily chore of mine to go out and check, re-rig the rigging and make sure that there wasn't too much leaking going on. Take note of the decaying footing caused from times of mass amounts of gushing water infusions

So yesterday was the remodel and here is the result:

So far I'm still on a daily check because I'm aware of my plumbing skilz or lack of... So far no leaks, but I'm still a pessimist at this point and knocking on wood as I say this!

The wife and I got a lot done in the backyard in the last couple of days. From Cedars to a not so rock, rock garden and a little work on my gazebo-type thing. (All I did was add some more bracing). Man, lawn edging is expensive.
As you can see, the robins have been working as well and Lisa is onto them. They don't stand a chance if they fall out of the nest, but we will do our best to prevent a cat attack.

look'm good man!

we are getting closer, nothing to look at, just a veggie garden. i hate it less and less, i just don't like the startup costs of an organic veggie garden.

Marlo, Those cedars will look great in a few years. The gazebo type structure is nice as well, looks good.

I don't mind the gardening, I always have a good selection of hot peppers. Many different varieties, some really hot, some not so much.

I hate gardening. Can't stand it. Biggest waste of time. I would rather stab my face off with a splintered chopstick.

Nice yard pics though.

Hope you're doin' something fun.
