well, if you pay top-dollah, you can go to the moon, if not in 2013, prolly not long from now... but the RPS offroad track is gone forever, so that is true collector stuff

Reggie, The "true" 95 Pavidis I got a couple of years ago and talked about it here:
http://www.rc10talk.com/viewtopic.php?f=29&t=18762

Let's call this one a "97 Pavidis" I guess 8)

Paul, you have a nice piece of history there. Wonder how the dirt will look over time...

Why did racers piece together their tyres...surely they had manufacturers at their beckon and call for all sort of tyre options.

Was it one of those OCD things!?

The tires don't match the race.
Yatabe they used Proline 8089's or Yokomo, California they used Losi sprints..

Don't even clean it! Keep it as is or sell it. To mess around with it would be wrong. Not many cars are part of the actual race history afterall.

'97 it can't be.
At the '97 Worlds warm-up in Pomona, the team drivers had modified YZ10's. The most obvious part was a very tall rear shock tower and a 2 parts top deck with a small shock absorber.
That modified YZ10 was not run at the actual Worlds. Instead the prototype MX-4 was introduced and run by the Team at the Worlds.

Your car is definitely a 'pavidis' '95 YZ10, with suzuki hex wheel adaptors.
But it has none of the '97 pre-Worlds bits. Moreover tires are not the ones used at Pomona. The wheel dots stickers were out of fashion in '97  but was the trand at Yatabe in '95.
Last but not least the race number sticker is the one used at the '95 Worlds in Japan.
If that car ever entered a Worlds, I would say it's probably the '95 Worlds in Japan. Not '97.
It's nevertheless a nice piece you got here
