Low Tech Solution for loose axle pins

I made a "V" shaped clamping pin press to press out those pesky roll pins. The "V" shape would work with any size axle or shaft.

I made it after getting thoroughly pissed off at removing an RC10 top shaft roll pin. No matter how you held it everytime you tried to punch it out the shaft would spin.

i never use a punch i just use a simple pair of plyers to grip the pin the pull the top of the plyers towards to end of the axel ... you can use the plyers as a fulcrum leaver and it pulls the pin right out

In addition to that pliers reccomendation, I tent to use a small needle nose before hand to push the pin flush on one side of the shaft before pulling out from the top. If you have issues grabbing it you might want to pick up a tiny set of vice grips, buy named brand here, the cheap ones don't grab worth beans.

I always use the same thing- needlenose to install and diagonals to remove

I start the pin by hand, it won't stay but it's close. Grip the pin and axle and compress until it hits the end if the hole blocked by the other end of the pliers. Then, grip at angle and finish the job

To remove, I grab the roll pin as close to the axle as possible and use it as a lever to pry up and out. Never had an issue, and if you do it right you don't hurt or even mark the roll pin.

That's just my opinion. I hate using pins that don't stay, but I also don't know that I would be a shoe goo person either. I love shoe goo but just don't know about it on a axle pin.
