That's my experience too and I have tried them all and the mid gen were without doubt the junkiest. I personally rate the third gen as second best but they might not be classified as vintage yet.

The ones that I was inquiring about , are the ones that joop posted. They DO also go by the PNs I listed W514X. They did come in black, yellow, green and blue and in S,M, and L. The shocks that are on my outrage are PN SM19 and 19Y (short black and yellow) , and SM38 and 38Y (long black and yellow) .

I did not know that there were different generations of them. I guess I just never gave it much thought. Thanks for the info as I always enjoy learning something new! :)
