This thread got me thinking about a pair of wishbones i have here. They're very similar to the Cougar standard wishbone, but about 8mm shorter. The header says Club 10 saloon, but i have no part number for them.
Did the Cougar based 911 have a narrower front end, or was it the later Club 10 mk2 saloons, or both?
Paul.

Paul,
Best I can do is confirm that the Mk2 Club10 utilised different front and rear wishbones for the touring models....
U774V - Front Wishbones (Cougar, Storm, Rally)
U1781J - Front Wishbones (Touring)
U1133J - Rear Wishbones (Cougar, Storm, Rally) (Medium Wheelbase)
U1135L - Rear Wishbones (Touring) (Short Wheelbase)
Not sure about the 911, will wait and see if Ryan can do a scan of the manual for us all.
Alex

Thanks Alex

i'd noticed U1781J on the Nitro21XT manual listed as touring wishbones, i just couldn't be sure it was them.

Sorry for the late reply
> here is a picture of my 911SE (I know, it's old and the quality could be better)

and of the chassis (I am sure it is a Cougar from 1992 - wrote a review at that time for a German magazine)
http://www.rccarmuseum.org/museum/files/911_schu_c.html
the manual should be somewhere in my archive (but I should be able to find it - if there is still a need for a scan, except title page which is missing)
BTW: there is still the plan to update my rc-car museum on the internet with much better pictures ...

Hi Paul!
I remember your review of the Schumacher 911SE for the German AMT-magazine with a cool shot of the car in front of the Vienna UNO-city. Well done!
Best regards!
Heli

Hi Heli,
well that's ages ago or in other words: pictures (and stories) from the last century
But it's nice to read that I am not the only veteran around

assuming one could get hold of the rest of the parts needed, where does one find touring-car bodies that fit?

Any of the Parma - produced Wildcat touring bodies should work.... matter of fact, just about any 235mm wide-body rallycross-style shell should fit - as long as the wheelbase works. I have the Alfa 155 (or 156), Mondeo, and I think some others from the Wildcat, and from memory a Pug 306 from Parma somewhere.
As for the parts, well, they're all available, if you look hard enough

There are still quite a few options, you will have to check wheelbases though.
Delta Plastikmake a BMW, Mercedes and Lancia Delta.
PK Racing still list a few wide touring bodies.
Team Bluegroovehas a few bodies available designed for the HPI Super Nitro, including a Kyosho flatnose Porsche. Just check the wheelbases of them to check if they will fit.
