Wonder what you use to do your masking?

All my paint jobs have only ever been done from rattle cans. Never tried an air brush.
As for the masking, still using good old Tamiya masking tape. It comes in various thicknesses and rolls off a dispenser.

^ You don't use an airbrush? Damn. That dark blue to light blue I was certain you used one. They look fantastic. Really clean tape lines. I'm assuming you just oversprayed onto the tape a bit to get a nice smooth, uniform fade?

Nicely done! Love the Turbo Burns btw. One of my all time favorite 1/8 scale buggies.

I too will be anxiously awaiting the video of the 5link in action! I've been a huge fan of the x2since I started rc back in late '90. I had a JRXT that I ran as buggy, modded to H-arms, even hydra. I was working on a SWB x2 project w/ the retrofit trans, but got bogged down w/expenses.....right as I was getting close to finishing. Maybe kaiser will chime in with a thread once he gets it together. I'm sure it will be one fast and cool buggy.... Yor thread popped up just days after we had agreed to the sale... Made me have some serious seller's remorse even though I hadn't even shipped it yet. Sent it out o him today.....dang, I still leave seller's remorse

Being new to this GoPro2 camera, editing etc... you'll have to forgive my poor ability to make a decent clip but you gotta start somewhere right?

I have finaly worked out that I could down load a program direct from the GoPro site which has allowed me to shorten the footage considerably. It's currently being uploaded to my Photobucket account and i'll post up a short clip here so anyone that wants to get a look in can.

I am definately open to suggestions on what programs would best suit this kind of thing to edit and present some footage of vintage r/c. I am all ears guys...

You'll be suprised by what can be achieved by using two or more colours whilst the paint is still very wet.
I have the can ready to go before any paint goes on. Cans have been heated in a tub of hot water, shaked, lids removed and set up in order of which is used first to last. The spray can be directed to the side of a section easily enough so it comes down to technique also. Seriously, anyone with a little patience can do a decent job with a rattle can and masking tape.

Brilliant little video! Great to see the suspension working & the driveshafts doing their 'thing'.

Suprisingly the car didn't wheelie. Mind you I am only running period electrics/batteries etc.. so it isn't a serious speed demon.
