Having owned a mini-t since they were released, and then switching to a mini-8 when that came out, I cannot say just how much better it is. I love the mini-t, and still do, but the mini-8 is just so more capable and durable, I cant recommend one enough.

parts are starting to flow in for the mini t.
losi nitrde coated oil shocks
boca bearings
a real mini t body (this has the ecx smash body, kind of a ugly suv)
trinity motor, shock tower, servo mounts and spare servo thanks to vwjuice.
turnigy 1600mah 2s battery

it's staying brushed so it's controlable.

i still have no idea why i'm doing this, it's going to end up in my 3 year olds hands at some point.
i guess until then it's my little project.

Which battery did you get? Can you post a link please? The battery is what I need. The one I have doesn't fit very well and I don't want to buy the losi one due to how much they want for it.

let me make sure it fits tonight.

this is it: http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=18634

it should fit without issue, but i haven't actually tired yet. if it's like their other batteries it's bound to be awesome.
they always under rate them, so i bet it's more like 1700mah and 30-40c knowing turnigy. it was like 14 bux with shipping.

I bought a skylipo from them for my mini t and the dimensions were way off. Hobby king had the wrong dimensions and picture posted, but this battery has insane power. Especially for a $9 battwry. It will end becoming a receiver battery for my nitro MT once I get the right battery for the mini t.

i've seen that before with sky, blue and zippy. but turnigy's info is always spot on. we'll know for sure tonight.

It fits great, enough room to put a foam block in front or behind it for weight bias.
The wires are fat though, 12ga.

I had a mini LST (which has the same battery compartment as the Mini T) and I bought two turnigy 1300 2S lipos that fit perfect, probably the same ones as Kaiser. They had a tiny bit of room on 2 sides and where spot on on the other 2 sides.

I don't have experience with the MiniT but the Mini LST was a really fun truck, until you keep chewing up a gear in the rear diff after about 3 minutes of running. I know they make metal gears for the Mini LST and also there's shimming needed to be done, but the gear issue seemed to be a design flaw. Just dumped the truck.

they make a ball diff for it, i was thinking about picking one up. i like ball diffs alot more then gear diffs.

I'm still running the stock gear diff in my mini-t and even with the insane power that thing is putting down I've never broken a gear at all. Only rear arms and lower shock retainers. I switched it over to the Exotek extended chassis kit and that should help make it more stable. It's closer to the length of the mini slider or rc18T now.

I do want the ball diff though. That and cvd's will be my next upgrades. Oh and a battery since mine is definitely the wrong size.

The issue for me was the Mini LST, not the mini T. It's the spider gear in the 4wd components that are the issue.

I was under the impression they used the same diff, but now that i think about it. I think it's the mini rock crawler that shares the diff with the mini-t.

i went carpet racing last night and brought the mini t for giggles. i had to install some deans on the truck and the battery, after a quick charge i hit the track with it. it was impressive, faster then the fwd class! i would have tq'd that class with it, yet with my own fwd i was in the b main. lol

i want to get some foam tires for it as the big meats that come on the smash make it traction roll like crazy. but overall i'm pretty happy with the little truck. with just a lipo it went from snail to a mini rocket (bottle rocket? ), just the right amount of power for the little chassis.
