Most projects on here take roughly 2 years to finish(if they do at all)so you may want to reconsider your proposal. Just kidding. I'm sure someone will be glad to do it and do a great job on a well intended project. Not me though. I'm not allowed to post any of my projects due to contractual agreements.

stripped screw had to dremel slot it to get it out. Major Bummer. tiny hex, totally stripped. As these parts are now non existent, I'm thinking this thing may just be done for. It's also lacking a couple bolts and servo mounts as the servo was taped to the chassis. A lot of rusted screws too. crud

Sometimes you just have to sit back and take a break. I have had many times where I get frustrated but it ends up working out and the feeling that you finish becomes that much more rewarding reguardless if you are planning on shelfing or running it.

I too have caught the restore and play with RC10 bug. Yours might seem a little more daunting, but I would take it as a challenge. In the short time that I have been going at this now (literally just started), I have found out lots of things here on this forum. Most importantly, I have found that if the original part is not available anymore, that there are other options out there, which is really cool.

Good luck and post some pics of its progress.

The body is actually the Dahms Torpedo body for Pro-SE and TRX1.

Where you located? (I wouldnt mind helping if your in SoCal)

I've been known to bring some back to runner status :) It would honestly be best for you to rebuild it, we all can give guidance and eyeball engineering as needed.

Hang on, what do you mean the parts are now non- existent? That doesn't sound good.

I live in maine, and I'm assuming parts for the RPM conversion are hard to come by. And I've started teardown, just a little apprehensive, but this will be learning thing. never worked on a "pro" r/c car before.

first (and probably best) advice, use proper tools and if unsure, take pictures before you take it apart.

Once you start the cleanup/rebuild, reference the pictures as much as possible to aid you in the reconstruction.

X2...wrong tools just frustrate an already frustrating problem so if you stay with this invest in some basics.
