I forgot to mention something else about the picture I posted above.
Notice that the rear wheels are on backwards, when I quized Phil Booth about this a short while ago, he told me the car was fitted with a prototype Thorpe differential, using gears rather than the Schumacher style ball diff. I have not seen one of these elsewhere.
I was sad to learn that Mr Thorpe is no longer with us, he did some really nice stuff.

? I don't see what you mean, nor what that has to do with geared vs ball diff.

i would guess it meant that the diff pushed the hubs out, and the rear wheels had to be mounted backwards to correct the trackwidth.

That's how I read it It's hard to see the wheels in that pic but I can imagine having all that extra room from flipping the wheel would help a ton on a car where the spur sits so close to the bulkhead

Thanks for clarifying that guys. It's true that on my Plazma the gear diff is not exactly symmetrical. And the wider part of the diff sits mostly inside the wheel hub. Pretty smart I thought because it keeps most of the grit out of the diff and you can put grease on it without having to wonder too much about the dust that catches.

If you look at the 1986 summer issue of RCCA on page 32, the Review of the RC12i states that that bumper is polystyrene

Here is the exact quote from RCCA "The front-end is rounded off with a polystyrene nose bumper that will take an act of Congress to break apart"

After over a year, I finally got round to starting this replica project
It is about 80% complete, I have to sort out the front bumper, wire it and find some suitable batteries.
Anyone know where to get the thin yellow heatshrink that Sanyo used to use?
All I can find is the thicker stuff

Hey do you mind sending me the scan on the radio tray/bumper that you got, I am working on a restoration of the Rc12E myself, I would really appreciated it

What bits do you need?
Bumper, full size or lightweight. Radio tray, origional 'T' shape or the triangular one above?

Bumper Lightweight, and Radio Tray original T shape is what I need. But if you already have them all scanned i wouldn't mind having the others too.

Russ, could you please have a look at the GFG shop again. Is it still the same stuff as you bought and which color did you choose? White or Natural?
Their photo showing white sheet looks somewhat strange, not really white color to me.

Those sheets should look the same to the old plates, if any possible.
