Interesting project Joey! The Alu. tub and cf chassis/trailing arm mix is something quite different. Do you go to/run at pegasus often? Everytime I go, I'm always bothering Andy about vintage stuff LOL. Its all about the sidewalk sales they have, once every blue moon...........

On my Andys chassis i used the aluminum Houge arms.Their a quarter inch longer than the black ones.Don

I have seen pictures of a different alloy rear arm, seemed smoother than the A&L, but they could have been polished/buffed out.

My thought right now is to get a plate of CF, trace the gold pan, lengthing the mounting area by about 1/2", widen it just a touch, then cut away. When I remount the arms, I will move them out a hair, and back so that the bones are swept back. I would love to find someone local with a shop that would mill it for me, but most that I have talked to give me the "deer in the headlights" look when I mention CF. CAL-OSHA and dust issues.

I am not sure if I have seen the same ones as you but recently there were a few pairs of A&L's which had had the centre completely milled out so they looked smoother, perhaps that is what you are thinking of? If not I am flumoxed

These are longer and shock mounts on inside of the trailing arm.Not on top like A&L,HAVE A set of A&L trailing arms.Too bad its just the arms.There was a set of Houge ones on ebay sold for 28.00 that are like the ones im talkn about.Just uses hinge pin and swingarm block with a set screw inside the block to hold hinge pin in.DON

Might be puttin mine up for sale. Andys chassis never run,andys 1 piece front bulkhead Andys new shortest front arms,RPM axles and carrier fronts.Worlds front n rear shocktowers,black 6 gear tranny w/alloy dust cap,white rear bulkhead,gold motorplate few scuffs on the back section of it,stock dogbone rearaxles in Houge rear alloy trailing arms.Black front body mount,white rear body mount,black tranny mount.No wing tubes.Gold shocks used.Has tech turnbuckles.Alloy bb steering too.DON
ps:With houge swingarms on Andys chassis angle of axle perfect not forward like the rest ive seen

i'm almost positive i've seen aluminum houge trailing arms before. but, if they're the same dimensions as the standard houge composite arms, andy's arms are longer. i was gonna buy a pair of houge composite arms from shodog awhile back for another andy's chassis i have, but they were too short.

just my $.02 on the subject.

thunderstrike, PM me if you decide to sell. I think I want at least one of every type of trailing arm car (BRP and MIP will be the hardest, I think)

Didn't A&L have a trailing arm set fro the gold pan? I think it mounted to the back (outside) so the dogbones would sweep back. Either way, since you cut down the pan already myabe you can use a small plate: using the holes you have now to mounth e plate and a different pair of holes slightly offset for the arm mounts.
(Is this clear?)

The kit I purchased is the Andy's kit, and with the limited instructions, I put 2 & 2 together and cut down the chassis (it was pretty hacked up already). I have seen the "add on" kit from A&L, and that is one thought I have to change the sweep.

I have one more thing to try before "designing" my own chassis, I am sure it will be exactly as needed. Then I will have a really hacked up gold chassis to play with

This one will also have the RPM worlds front end, I have the bulkheads already, and made my front tower today (that is what happens when you have a hacked up graphite chassis - nose cut off - an RPM shock tower tracing, and an handful of dremel cut off wheels, not to mention mom & the kids went shopping).

What length shocks went onto the nose of the RPM worlds? .71? 1.02?

so the build continues....I have ditched the gold tub chassis in favor a graphite plate chassis, and have started mounting up parts, here it is so far...got super lucky this past weekend, was racing out of town, and the hobby shop had a 50% off table, got the worlds steering set up for $2.50, also picked up 2.2 front & rear rims, and a yellow set of TQ rear wheels (2.0's).

had to dig up an oldie for updates....

Made a little progress, still missing CVD's, a couple tie rods and wing tubes.

Installed gold shocks and RPM tranny, black bulkheads and rear shock tower.
