As far as RC cars, I haven't heard people calling them 'rides'. It does sound a bit ridiculous.
Didn't they make a powdered version of Dinky Donuts? I think it was out about the same time as Waffelos. I say that because my sister and I use to get into huge arguments in the cereal aisle and my mom would have to break us up. To this day there is a still a cold war between my sister and I over cereal. Whenever we're together and breakfast is mentioned ice cold glances are exchanged. Wounds as old as time itself are ripped open spilling the heartache and turmoil that boils within our souls. Our brains dizzy with emotions as we try to maintain our composure and conceal our long brewed hatred for one another...

Oh, but anyway, wasn't there a powdered version? :D

LOL - You made me blow snot! If you're not a professional writer, you should be!

I sure as hell hope there wasn't a honey-nut glazed version!

I posted a picture of CYANide yesterday on RCTech and someone just replied to it today saying "nice ride"! I had to resist the urge to reply that I hadn't ridden it yet, so I couldn't confirm if the ride was nice or not.
Sorry, I probably have seen it posted, just never heard it spoken aloud. By the time I got to the post about coworkers I had forgotten your original post was about a forum complaint and mistakenly made a comment about RC conversations. I guess none of this gets under my skin. Off to work... just need to decide whether to take my CE or Team ride.

No, I just have to keep my mind entertained so it doesn't commit evil deeds.

This is the cereal I was thinking of.

As for the whole "rides" debate, I'm pretty neutral. I just think of it as one of those things people type on the internet, but probably don't use in real life. I have a lot of expressions that fall into that category. Part of the fun of the internet I guess.

Should read: "It drives me do-nuts when people call them cereal".

My coworker and I are gonna bring our RC cars to work tomorrow, if the weather is good..I sent my other co worker that calls them dinky cars a text (he was 5 feet away) and said we were having an RC car meeting and asked if he is coming.....he laughed and said yes....he is bringing his full sized car to chase ours around.

As long as we're on the subject of stupid descriptions..I'd like to officially add the word "sick" to the death-wish list.

Maybe the next "dope" fool who uses the words: "whip" or "ride" to describe a model car (or anything else) should be beat with a stick until he's "sick"...

Why do people refer to RC cars as their "rides"?? You can't ride on the things! I can imagine you calling your car or truck, your motorcycle, or even your moped your "ride", but a toy car?!
Your hypothesis is invalid!
