I don't see why the die hard old schoolers would be any way upset about this re-re. All the major components are different than the original truck.

Tamiya really has killed the collector. Not just the market but the rareity of things. I have spent countless thousands of dollars collecting bruiser and sand scorcher parts and chassis only to have them reissued. However I bought both the buggy champ and sand scorcher and I will most likely buy one of these bruisers too.

I think the collectors should be happy about the re-re's. if they keep their originals and wait another 10-15 years, imagine how much more collectible they will be then!

They'll be plenty of people chasing down the re-re's, but the first edition 'real' originals will be like unicorn's.

The re-re's also keep the interest alive as well as getting the newer and young generation hooked on the hobby, which only helps the collectors by making their items more sort after, more rare, and more valuable......

I understand how collectors must feel in the short term, but longer term they should only be happier about the effect of re-re's on their hobby!

Reissues don't do anything to your collection, your collection still exists. I mean, if you were collecting for the right reasons in the first place you've got nothing to worry about. This truck is completely different from the original.

There's a seller on ebay with pre-orders at $558 including shipping. That is tempting. Is it legal to do pre-orders over ebay? I thought they had a rule against that?

I agree I dont collect cars based on value or resale. I collect because they are what I remember as a kid. And I just love the old school looks. I will have the Bruiser.

I want a Blazer I wouldnt care if they put it on a Grasshoper chassis. that truck was so cool looking, I always wished they would have done the same thing with a Bronco body. I would love to build a scale Big Oly how cool would that be!

Same for me. The Blazer just has the best chunkier, meanest, racing look of all of the classics. I love them tobre-re it so we could have a plentiful supply of bodies to make into racers!

I bought one of the $558 Bruisers off ebay. I didn't pay right away and a few hours later the auction got pulled by ebay. He relisted the trucks again saying it got pulled because he didn't have a specific ship date. Then the second auction got pulled. I'm hesitant to pay for the truck at this point. Any body have any experience with pre orders on ebay before? I know I've got 45 days to file a claim and the truck should ship by then, but $558 is a lot of money to risk.

i don't know what to say scott. but that price with free shipping was pretty tempting.

The auction said to pay within 3 days. If the guy is honest and is doing what he says he's going to do, I should be within 45 days to file a claim deal. I'm just not real anxious to pay him right away because the auction was pulled twice and also to buy me a few extra days on the other end in case the truck is late to arrive.

$558 is a lot of money to risk.

you said it..the last thing i want to do is have $558 frozen in paypal land.. i really want one but i dont know if i can get past a few things......... 1 price. 2 bushings.3 its really a new bruiser that looks like old bruiser.4 I WANT RTR i dont want to put in all the work i have too many projects.5 PRICE!!!!!!!!

I wouldn't,, I would wait, I got screwed ones and had to wait an extra three weeks....

When these come out, they will sell like hot cakes. I wouldnt tie up my money on a preorder that this guy may not be able to fill. There will be another source at a similar price.

if he can preorder for $558, they will fall below $500 when widely available... or worst case they'll be $600-ish, and an extra $40 is worth the insurance I'd say
