Wow! Thats quite a 'sleeper' for sure!!

P.S is that a HKS Mushroom filter..... if it is please tell your mate to change it - a mate of mine worked for them & they did alot of development work on the high-flow filters & found that with high boost applications they actually started to dissintegrate & ingest into the engine!

it sure is a sleeper. i used to have a sticker that simply said "don't sleep on the beetle".

that's a real hks mushroom with the internal cage. i heard horror stories about the knock off mushroom filters.
i also belive the internal cages were added to the later filters like this one. i'll mention it to him though.

that's a 3 inch inlet so even in high boost it's not a super huge draw.

I've been an air cooled VW fan since my early teens. I've actually got a 1964 Notchback tucked away in my parents garage (won't fit in mine :( ) that someday I'll get around to completing

No realist!!! I have been that guy full race prep 91 GLI SCCA ready, but just with my wife's 2007Audi a4 avant I spend more time fixing it then enjoying it. I don't know how someone who isn't a Audi tech can afford to own these cars? I'm still a diehard vw/Audi guy just with the miles to understand yes they are a nightmare I guess it's a disease

Cool 'ring' pics Ben.... we went to have a look when we went to Cologne a couple of years ago on a Stag-do (Did Schumacher Karting too 8) ) We had mean't to have a go round but we got scared looking at everyone hooning round.... that and the fact that Hertz had specifically said not to take our S-Max/Galaxy hire cars on there :?

Anyway... here's some pics of my 'Dub'

Euro-only 1979 VW Derby

I prefer the Pana Sport/Mini Lite wheels rather than the BBS! They just look better on the car IMO!
