Sweet work M.R. Ogle. I think Eau Rouge said it all. The board keeps getting better and your presence will enhance that for sure.

Now off topic a little. Think you can pull some Associated strings and get some Protech and Viper bodies back in the states?

Those are sweet wheels! Does anyone make them for the trucks or are they only made for the buggies? I think the would be a nice touch to the project I have going.

Had to check back in here... I just discovered another term I didn't know about (and I don't think the Associated guys know about, either)..."Edinger car"...

I'm really going to have to go through my box of old parts, I bet there are three or four of those old green and silver Associated motors in there.

I believe I came up with that term... it helps to tell the difference from the later "Cadillac" cars...

And there are not many true "1984" cars...

Can someone explain what an "Edinger car" is ...??

"Edinger" cars are called that because the companies street address when they first started to produce the RC10. As time went on, they moved locations, and therefore addresses changed. ie: "Cadillac"

It is an easy way to "label" the same model of car built in different years. As long as you have the original box that is. It's kinda a term born on this forum....

Street address... No wonder I couldnt find a picture of a Edinger 1:1 car (figuring the reference to Cadillac was also a 1:1 car)

Unfortunately the only kit boxes I have refer to Cadillac Ave, but some if the build manuals I have list the address as East Edinger...

I guess today's Associated Models would be "Commercentre" cars....

I know I've said this before, but somebody really needs to come up with a list of questions and fax them over to Pete Cooney, the purchasing agent for Associated. He's been there since the Edinger days, and he knows the sources and changes for just about everything on the early model RC10's, because everything AE bought, ordered, re-ordered or changed went through him. Pete's going to retire soon (I'm surprised he's still there) but he's a really nice, down to earth guy who could probably make a tremendous phone interview... especially if he had a few days to look over some questions.

Maybe we should start asking people to compile their questions?
