we felt it big time in danbury ct. i work at a vw dealership and the cars on lifts were swaying/bouncing. pretty freaky.
it did feel like i was standing in a bowl of jello. lol

I live 45 miles south of Washington Dc it hit us pretty hard. everyone was freaking out. it only lasteds a min or so. we live near a nuclear power plant and a Navy base, It felt like a plane crashed real close or the plant blew up. I dont remember us ever haveing a earthquake hear before in my lifetime?

I read an article last night that mentioned that virginia is pretty much a hot spot in the area, and has had alot of quakes over the years, but nothing like this since something like the late 1800's or thereabouts.
there are alot of small ones that you don't really notice apparently. the usgs website is pretty cool for looking at these things.
it also mentioned that the quake epicenters are usually shallow on the east coast, and because of the way the earth is composed here, you feel it large distances away.

I was in the DMV office here when it hit.Was a weird feeling like tractor trailers colliding cause i -85 is 75 yards away and theres a bridge but it lasted way too long.DMV hottie at window ran out the building lookn around,so i got a ncie view lololol.I told her i wanted to see the building tags and registraition to cite it for moving violation lmao.DON

I don't think we have the building codes that the west coast has and I know we have a lot of buildings that are really old, if a really big one hit NYC I think it would be a catastrophe.
And now we get a hurricane!

Well Here in Richmond Va. I was pissed that someone put too much in the washer but after picking up everything "IN MY ROOM" off the floor....the washer wasn,t even on....Dammn pain pills got blamed till my cell phone didn,t work eather.....just another day,lived in Sunnyvale Ca.for a while so no biggie...
