LOL @ Jay Dub All right let me order one too... gotta try it, so no excuse now there's a trick no to see how ugly it is. Just don't run it with black wheels otherwise it's impossible to see the car on the track

I have to agree with you all about the very ugly cab fwd bodies, and the fact that they have more than likely NOT been aero tested in any way. I'm glad to see many at the Worlds are not using them.
It just gives mfr's a way to sell anything "different and new" to anyone looking to buy anything "different and new". People have this need to "accessorize".
Notice that nobody is running spoked wheels at the worlds either, worst idea ever for wheels!
LOL!

With 1 round to go it looks like the most likely winner (manufacturer) is going to be Team Associated. The next likely company would be Kyosho. I don't see a way for Losi to win this. It's not quite over yet but unless something drastic changes in round 3 Associated is going to do it yet again. AE is running the same car they've had for years while Losi is running a brand new car and Kyosho have apparently made some changes to the RB5. When you've got a good design, it's damn near timeless. AE is really good at that.

Keep in mind AE is using a non-standard chassis on that track.
but good job AE!!! Proud to be running a B4.1 after a B4 - and my whole set of RC10's too

I'm not surprised they were running a different chassis setup. There are usually different things tried at world's. I'm sad that you don't see the drastic changes that you saw to cars at world's 20+ years ago like the specially built cars such as the world finals cars from Associated in 89 and 91. The cars have gotten so refined now that any of the platforms out there are more than capable. The playing field is basically even today. As proof, out of the 10 drivers in the A main, there were 5 different cars represented by Team Associated, Kyosho, Losi, Durango, and Tamiya. All 10 places qualified within .7 seconds of each other.
In the UK (crazy-grip astroturf/grass tracks) all the factory AE boys are running a custom-made mid-motor conversion done by CML, the local AE importer (run by C. Drescher iirc), called C4.1. Plenty more pics on oOple. This is not available for purchase (yet). Seems to work wonders over there obviously
I think this worlds signed the death of the mid-motor market

As long as the next Worlds isn't run on Astroturf...
There is a rule that worlds must be run on sand or clay track, astroturf and grass tracks are not allowed. So, there seems to be never on mid motor worlds winning car.
