I think it's regional as much as anything. Traxxas will be well represented just about everywhere because they make a great product and constantly provide new attractions for the average basher. Team Associated is still more geared toward racing, but seem to waffle every now and again to the basher side. I can't blame them. It's tough to make a buck in the r/c biz. The shop at my track is about equal in everything because it's big into racing, but also has to cater to the popularity of Traxxas stuff(which I really dig by the way). Even the Hobbytown USA here has a pretty impressive Associated stock(which surprises me for some reason).

And as for the connectors. I would agree. After a hot run, a Tamiya connector is hotter than a 10-peckered billy goat. A sure sign of power loss. I like Dean's and they're relatively cheap when you conside you don't need a thousand of them. IMHO

Yup. The quality has gotten better.

I use Deans for all my bashers now with LIPO.

I know that we do have a Traxxas section here and all, but what year do you think that Slashtalk.com will be started for all those super fond memories about your Slash or Tmaxx ?

Nope, the 13 year old kids are now too busy sexting and smoking dope to race on a large scale, and the 13 year olds that do race are a throw away generation anyway so they don't hold them in the same regard. And all the SC guys are mid 30's anyway and will be too old to care by 2028-

You couple that with lipos and they just don't know how good they got it! Careful. That cynicism will lead you down a dark path...

Tamiya connectors are cheap low volt/amp entry level. And thy where original designed to be connected/disconnected 10 times maximum!

I wish sexting was aroun when I was racing. It would have helped pass the time between heats

Yes, you were given some good advice. You have been saved from any future grief due to connecter meltdown. I remember seeing a buggy stop in the middle of the straight, a little spark, some smoke, then the body starts to curl up and melt. You cannot see flames in bright sunlight. Although neat to watch, is tough on equipment. You will not see this ever happening to your stuff when using good quaity connecters.

I set my Hornet on fire back in the day along with many other connectors
