I too want to say I am very sorry for your loss, it sounds like you two were very close and spent a lot of time and joy within the RC hobby.
As is in my own life and relationship with my wife, it sounds to me that the RC10 signifies something much more than just a buggy to you.
I am happy to hear you plan on refreshing your father's cars, and will look forward to your progress!

Cracking work, looks superb :)

Is that the original shell too? It's cleaned up nicely, you should be proud!

Bought when they were just released :D . My box did not even have a picture of the car on it. Tonight I just noticed my chassis is textured, and my dad's is smooth. Not sure what that mean as far as production runs.

Some people will never understand how just looking at a (sorry) toy car can make all these special & precious childhood memories flood back.. awesome story, your dad sounds like a great guy and as a new dad myself found this an inspiring story.

Sorry for your loss! My dad gave me his RC10 that he got so we could race my RC10 and I cleaned it up made it my own and sat it on the shelf for memories. You did the right thing by cleaning them up. I'm sure he appreciates the fact that you are continuing to care for the cars that brought some many great memories.
