Some bare aluminum parts would give a nice contrast to the CF. What are your plans for wheels?

I do have a set of Lohas Hurricane's, but I may go for a mix of black 3-piece on the front and brushed silver alloy on the rear. I'm kinda making it up as I go along. But, it is my intention to race it, so it needs to be functional! :wink:

Made a start on the front end this morning. First thing I have to say is; don't ever use 'bling' alu screws as they are crap! :lol: The heads strip so easy it's a joke. I guess I'll have to swap them out for steel or titaniums at a later date, but for now they suit the look. 8)

JG bumper,
Lunsford titanium turnbuckes,
Losi heavy duty rod ends,
3Racing aluminium shocks with losi springs,
The steering crank was used, but cleaned up like new,
Black 3-piece wheels,
Yokomo TF-390 Hot Laps tyres,
New original black chassis tubes,
Shocks mounted with green silicon fuel tubing,
Blue alloy axles,
Ball cup foams as it's a functional racer,
Nylon hex nuts,

.......and a set of very sore fingers!! :lol:

Really impressive. Can you give me some info on the shocks, all parts? Looks like blue factory team caps but the springs especially are a mystery. I see the guys at the track running them but they do not seem to be the AE buggy spring set that tower and others sell. Is this some mystery, super secret spring package that others have found a source for? :P

Shocks are '3-Racing' type with Losi springs; I got mine off Ebay, but try here;

http://www.3racing-parts.com/shop/kyosho-lazer-chassis-aluminium-front-rear-damper-blue-color-kyosho-lazer-3racing-zx501bu-p-10001396.html

Washers are '4mm countersunk', again from Ebay. Ansman do all colours, just do a search and you'll find loads of them;

http://toys.shop.ebay.co.uk/Toys-Games-/220/i.html?LH_AvailTo=3&_nkw=4mm+countersunk+washer+&_cqr=true&_nkwusc=4mm+counter+sunk+washer&_rdc=1

:wink:

Rebuilt the gearbox this morning;

New casing,
New B4 shaft,
New bearings,
New Felt dust pad,
New ceramic diff balls,
New diff rings,
New screw pack,
New idler gear,

Couldn't add the B4 spur and slipper assembly as I realised that I'd only ordered one slipper hub! Doh!! :lol:

How well does that aluminum nose seat inside the carbon tub? I would check very carefully that it seats flat and flush with the nose, since it looks to me like where the chassis rolls up to the sides might be a tight fit along the edge of the nose plate.

If it were mine and I was going to race it, I'd sand or file the bottom edge of the nose plate on a radius where the chassis contacts it so it doesn't chew up the composite.

Did that make sense what I'm describing?

otherwise, looks killer!
