When I mid motored it I used a crappy paper pattern that I made from the bottom of the trans to mark the new holes. which is why the trans is 1 mm to the right lol.

So from the sounds of it either I have the only 10T chassis made with two sets of holes for the rear arm mounts or someone drilled them for me and I dont remember. Any other ideas here?

I have never seen a chassis with 4 factory arm mount holes. I think you may have forgotten. It happens to all of us.

it's simple. snap a pic of the bottom. any holes that were factory will still have some kind of anodizing left in the countersink. anything else with be nice and bright and shiny(or oxidized).

I will see if I can get a pic tonight. It might be hard to tell because I went over alot of the screw holes on the bottom and countersunk them a little deeper. seems like all the screws stuck up a bit rather than sit flush.

I dont know what to think. On one hand nobody seems to have seen one with both sets of holes and I have looked at a couple hundred in the last couple of days and havent seen another one. That would point to it being done after I bought it.
On the other hand it has been like that for at least 15 years and I know for a fact(sadly) that I did not have the skills back then to drill all 4 that precisely. I had no drill press back then and dont think I knew anybody that did and I know I didnt ask anybody to do it for me. Like I said I dont know what to think. If it had any special value it left as soon as I butchered the sides.

if you simply look at the hole patterns, there is no way on earth this thing could have ever run with a mid motor using the stock rear arm holes. the holes for the mid stealth are drilled too far forward. so,. 1 of two things could have happened. the extra set of arm holes were somehow already there, and you drilled the mid motor stealth holes to match up to the forward arm holes,... orrrrrr,.. the stealth holes were drilled wrong, and you drilled the new arm holes so it would work. and if you take care to look, the forward arm holes are drilled about .8mm in farther than they are supposed to be

it was a rough guess, doesn't look to be quite 1mm. rofl

I will get some better pictures up tonight. The original pic is a bit decieving because all 4 of the correct holes are egged out to the outside from years of really hard bashing.

From what I remember when I was doing the mid motor deal I put the arms in the front set of holes to push the back wheels ahead and get more rearweight and then mounted the transmission based off of that. Not sure what else to say.

you probably did it one night and totally forgot about it, which isn't too out of the ordinary from 20 yrs ago!

I have cars/trucks that come back to the shop from time to time after very long periods of time, and my dad has to remind that I rebuilt such and such for the truck. It's funny, because I'll look at something that is fixed and say to myself 'hey, cool, that's how I would have done it.'. Duh, I did do it!

Yup, just new holes to make the mid motor configuration work- we used to do the same thing, but with a graphite car so you didn't have to cut the tub.
