I'd say its time to use my suggestion then, and stop losing sleep.
I'm a motorcycle mechanic and someone was bitching to me about crimp connectors being crap, so we broke out the multimeters and did some tests. With a good crimping tool and proper use, the result was so negligible I doubt you would ever notice.
Just don't use the crappy 3m splice connectors because they really do damage the wires
just use a butt splice connector like this
or this

I am not sure what is in some wires but I know some brushless wires and speed controls have only 1/2" of solderable wire. I have a Castle setup for example and they state the wires are OK to shorten. Their wires are solderable for the entire length.

you might try heating the exposed wire end you want to solder for several seconds with a lighter or small torch.
if there is some kind of coating on the wire, this MIGHT burn it off.
hold the wire with needlenose or pliers so the heat doesn't wick up the wire and burn up the insulation.
or just send the lipos to me and i'll figure it out! lol

Either you have TOO MUCH disposable income, or you don't have a basher.
Get over the need for a perfect solder joint.
I have trouble believing that you threw away all that money... but i'm gonna start diving in your dumpster!
