Thanks Jason, that’s was my philosophy to when I left racing 15 years ago! But sins I don’t have any experience from brushless motors I have to ask! So a 17.5T would be about right for my A&L gearbox? What I understand the brushless motors have more torque then brushed motors?

Yes a current 17.5 would be equivilant to a stock 27t brushed motor- but they are all torque and very little rpm compared to the brushed versions-

At many of the vintage meetings that have been run here in Australia the majority would agree the Tamiya Sports Tuned motor works well in 2WD buggies. Not a great deal of torque but coupled with the voltage of lipo's the cars are very drivable.

If I understand this correctly: (I probably don’t) :lol:
A 17.5 1800Kv is equivalent whit a single 27T stock brushed motor but with more torque!
A 13.5 3200Kv is equivalent whit a ??T x wind? brushed motor!
A 9T 4300Kv is equivalent whit a ??T x wind? brushed motor!

I’m thinking that I’m looking on the wrong figures, is not the windings that are important. It’s the Kv that’s important or is it the combination perhaps?

13.5T 3200Kv VS a 13.5T 2500Kv, which motor has the most torque? And which motor is suitable for vintage 2WD car, and which is most suitable for a vintage 4WD car?

I was just about to ask something along those lines, as I've resurrected my Optima Mid from the grave and I was dreaming of brushless power. From what I've recently learned a higher KV rating speaks of more power also. How do the "T" and "KV" numbers work out in relation to each other?
