haha I have a GPS, I want to try it now. I don't know why I haven't thought of it before

Back 8 years ago when Novak released their first brushless setup I built a speed run Midnight Pumpkin. I was able to hit 30mph with it according to the Garmin GPS. With the advances in technology since then if done today it should be able to go much faster.

30Mph with a Midnight Pumpkin I thought running mine with a Reedy silver dot was fast..

you should be able to hit WAY faster than 23MPH with a 13.5... just crank the timing up and watch her hit ballistic speeds.

then you could team up with Andrea and do wheelie contests on tarmac!

At the local off road races last Friday night, many of the drivers were running way too fast of a motor. Some of them were running 6.5T motors but then had the throttle turned down to 60-70% on the transmitter. Why??? I'd rather just have a 10.5T or 13.5T motor at 100% on the transmitter which would give me the top end but also the low end advantage of the higher turn motors. The general rule at many tracks is that you only need enough motor to clear the largest set of jumps you intend to hit and no more.

13.5 is the sweet spot for me in 2wd buggy. i never gps'd it or anything but it just right, not too fast, not too slow.

the local guys here are running 8.5T which I think is okay for a 10T but I prefer 10.5T for the RC10. I have a Mamba Max 5700 in a 10T and I got to be conscious of not pulling the trigger to fast, but it reaches 43mph. I wouldn't recommend it though, it's more fun to just gun the trigger on a basher.

I am just doing this for fun.


I will gear it appropriately for the track when I am racing.

i run a 8.5 in my 10t. it's hot but not too hot.

A while back there was a guy with a radar gun on a practice day at the track and he said I hit 24mph on the straight with my non boosted 17.5. Should go pretty quick with a boosted motor or a mod motor.

It was almost undrivable. If I were to attempt it again there is a number of things I'd do differently which would make it more controllable. The only part I have left from that build is the wheelie bar I made. It consists of King Hauler parts and airplane wheels. Worked surprisingly well.

I have a couple of pictures on an external hard drive somewhere. I'll have to post them when I come across them.

38.8mph with sc10 tires,27pinion 75spur.

The other day I clocked my 17x2 brushed at 34 with a 6 cell 5100mah nimh and a 2.25 stealth. 81/19 gearing. Taking it on loose dirt isn't very fun though. Unless you just want to kick up an ass load of dirt. It'll do wheel stands on asphalt so long as it hooks. Half the time it breaks loose.
