it'll all find a home eventually.....

Anybody have any history about this KO PS-1001FET servo? I'm guessing it's one Masami gave me to try. I know the first batch of KO FET servos had the external box, I've got one of those in one of my 1/10 pan cars somewhere. Maybe this is the next generatation?

i'm pretty sure it was the first "all in on" ko fet servo (all internal, no separate box). timeline wise, late '89 (maybe), 1990. the rcca writeup of masami's 2wd car from the '90 reedy race, i think it talks about him using this new servo... or something like that.

i have one too, because i hope to do a replica of that very car one day. it far from the condition yours is in though.

I don´t know if there were some other servo type too but the first KO FET servo with the external booster was called PS-87 here. This also was larger case then other servos like Futaba 9401 we used before. I know I used this first time at my Yokomo YZ-870c in 1988.

Also there was a small servo with external booster intended for 1/12th racing but I can´t remember the type number currently. Maybe PS-902.
The PS-1001 was replacing the PS-87 later and same case size again as the Futaba.
I still have this 1001 and I know I used this servo at more cars than any other of my servos. Actually I should have the original box and manual somewhere so maybe there is a production year to find.

I love old KO radios I have a couple EX1 radios. My local hobby shop has a few EX5 radios new in the box I have been trying to get a hold of but a feel he wants to much for them.

There should be a fourth blue wire coming out of that 1001 somewhere!
