Re: My first Yokomo - YZ-10, i.d verification please
Becarfull with the screws fitting the front and rear arms mount .
That's a really original dimension.
Not a 8-32 or 4mm, not a 4-40 or a 5-40 .
It's something different around 3.5mm ???
Never seen it before, and not after.
Reggy, if you need pics of WCS details, feel free to ask, I'm not a monster ...

Re: My first Yokomo - WCS 93!
Kenooze.... that is just lovely, great inspiration! Was it a restoration project or a new build? Also thanks for the screw & under-chassis shot I think that clarifys whats happened on mine.
Over the weekend I stripped the car down.... & although it is in generally good condition it does have a few issues/parts which i'd like to eventually to sort out and replace for good used or new parts. One thing is for sure, this car will never be perfect.... but at the same time I can easily put it all together & sit it looking pretty on the shelf along side its 2wd 93 worlds winning sibling... my RC10 Worlds runner. Heres my findings;
First off (& most seriously) - the car has had a heavy impact at some point & caused this crack to the kick-up at the front of the chassis, literally I could probably snap the chassis with my bare hands if I wanted to.

There is also a smaller crack along the bottom of the chassis at the same point
Here's a shot of the underside at the rear of the car;

It seems the 'strange' size screws that occur on the wishbone pivot blocks (front & rear) have been replaced with these M4 socket heads at the back & Ali AE 8/32 screws at the front. Strangely it seems a couple of the old original screws (they measure about 3.5mm) have been threaded into the lower front diff housing. It would be nice to replace all these plastic bulkhead parts & reinstate the original spec screws.
Here's some general rear end/bulhead shots for CDS
(note gold wing connectors)

Cover removed

Camber link removed

The belts are indeed 3mm & it looks like the front belt has been made up (by say a motor-drives factors) as it is thicker & appears to have been cut in its width to suit. It would be nice to get a new (genuine Yokomo) belt but i'm not fussed about reverting back to 2mm - unless someone has it all sitting their toolbox & willing to let it go.
So the list of parts needed is growing; here's a picture of the parts i'd ideally like to replace... i'm not sure if the front plastic bulkheads & rear pivot parts are WCS car specific? If they are I guess replacements would be hard to find?

(Note; the black screws in the lower trans mouldings nearest the camera I think are your mistery screws that are mean't to be in the wishbone mountings)
So I need,
*Rear white plastic bulkhead/trans cover
*Rear wishbone pivot blocks (L & R)
*Front bulkhead/wishbone pivot
*Lower front gearbox housings (the parts that the diff bearings sit in)
*3mm pitch front belt
*Plastic rear wing
*Some suitable wheels (unlikely to find pink - but black ribbed would be ok)
*The white plastic ball cups for the anti-roll bar link (two different types) as mine are split.
*Battery straps
I have a feeling this project is going to get expensive

Re: My first Yokomo - YZ-10, 93 WCS!
About the front and rear inner arm mount, you will only get the YZ10 style, the one fitting 8-32 and not this strange 3.5mm.
About wheels, I can supply you white or black but no pink...

Quick update;marui hunter 73 wrote:yeah they are very rare, i hear masami dyed his white one anyway
Not much has happed since I stripped the car down, though I did manage to score these ribbed pink front wheels...

I also recieved two pairs of the smooth type pink wheels, but both are fronts so if anyone wants to trade a pair of fronts for some rears let me know.
Cedric, i'll let you know on the offer of white or black wheels - I prefer black, but white is more correct for the car???
I'm also going to try & fix the chassis using this kit;

Re: My first Yokomo - YZ-10, 93 WCS!
Spare parts for these cars are very hard to come by wherever you are... there are still alot of parts that i'm searching for, there's not much even on ebay, but i've been helped out by a number of people on this forum - for this car i'm even having parts specially made. When you have built up enough posts (40 I think) on here you will be able to get access to the buy/sell & trade section - theres often a few Yokomo parts advertised, and you can request specific parts in the 'Wanted' sectionTimanidzer wrote:where you take spare parts
